About Academy of Dance in Brighton MI
Academy of Dance is a community centered, inclusive studio in Brighton that has welcomed dancers of all ages for more than 25 years.
Families from Howell, Hartland, Milford, South Lyon, and Pinckney choose AOD for its friendly environment, beginner friendly approach, and commitment to confidence building. Rooted in joy, creativity, and personal growth, AOD helps every dancer feel supported and proud of who they are becoming.
Our Story
The Academy of Dance began more than 25 years ago with a simple mission. Create a place where everyone feels welcome and where dancers can build confidence through movement.
From its beginnings as a small community studio, AOD has grown into a well known institution in Brighton and the surrounding areas. Dancers from Howell, Hartland, Milford, South Lyon, and Pinckney come to AOD for the supportive environment, positive teaching approach, and emphasis on joy and learning. The studio has proudly produced 11 Nutcracker performances, giving generations of dancers the chance to shine on stage.

Who We Serve
AOD welcomes dancers of all ages, from age 2 through adults. We support beginners, returning dancers, and experienced performers. Families across Livingston County choose AOD because they want a studio that is friendly, organized, safe, and dedicated to confidence building.
Our Commitment to the Community
AOD participates in local events such as the Harvest Festival at Brookside Plaza and regularly offers free trial classes at community gatherings. We also welcome student involvement in annual productions including the Nutcracker and Spring Ballet.
